Producing a product can not only take one, but multiple processes. For example, making a beer takes multiple processes such as fermenting, malting, etc... Both processes might be done at two different places (for example, fermenting and malting in beer making), so we assign them to which we will call assembly stations. Both are organized in an assembly group, which in our example, would be a beer making group, where we have assigned members to do the process.
Members are assigned through Job Scheduling's Member page. If you still haven't setup your company’s assembly members and don't know how, click here
To set up your assembly stations in MES, open the side navigation tab click Job Scheduling. After expanding the Job Scheduling section, click Product Settings
After opening Product Settings page, click Add Assembly Group tab
This is what the assembly group tab should look like:
In this view, you can create assembly groups to organize your assembly stations. Once setup, you can use these stations to schedule tasks in selected dates
To create one, click Add Assembly Group button. A window like this should show up:
Assembly Group Name and Code will be your identifier for your assembly group
You can also assign the number of stations you want to exist for the assembly group depending on the number of its processes and how many station single process uses
Setting the hourly rate of the whole assembly group will be computed in USD
Per assembly group, there should also be assigned members to man the assembly stations.
We will also assign production start and end times for each day of the week
Lastly, we pick a color that identifies our workstation
After filling up necessary data fields, click Save
After saving, your newly made assembly group should appear in the table
If you switch to Assembly Station tab, there should also be newly created assembly stations corresponding to how much stations you assigned to your assembly group
You can also edit and delete them after creating them by clicking their buttons.
Note that deleting an assembly group with existing assembly would delete all assembly stations under it.
